Aunque no todos han captado tal cosa, se reconoce como un hecho que McCartney respondió políticamente a Lennon en su tema "Let Me Roll It" (en BAND ON THE RUN, 1973); con lo que el pleito terminó o por lo menos se disipó. Un año después, en Los Ángeles, John y Paul tocarían juntos en una jam session como si nada hubiera ocurrido.
