I've never head of this theory before, and when you were explaining it I was almost ready to shout at the screen! I hate the majority of Human beings, cuz they suck. I'm MTF, and I'm lesbian, so what!?
Anyway great video, you got another subsciber! =D

I've heard of such things before, I just know it's a bunch of bull they're trying to use to make us seem like deviants and rationalize shunning us. I would love to see them try to explain someone who's lost all interest in sexual contact yet transitioning, that in and of itself is proof that sexuality and gender transition are independent factors.

You make very good points.Personally i don't feel all trans people are strictly sexual creatures as i hear the word transsexual mentioned in the media.Trans people are just like everyone else in terms of variation. Some are cool, some are not. Some are mean spirited and some are not.But by and large in my opinion, trans people are very unique in as much as they can see both sides of the street. That in itself, in my opinion, is the sign of an awakened intellect.

@karmatic1110 Its a natural innocent, "eccentricity" and accept that among the limitless manifestations there are always gonna be those that disturb me. Ofcourse disdain can be deserved, especially if harmful. Thanks for responding :)
Blanchard's work is not perfect, in his categorisation. But his work has been groundbreaking in many ways. His mistake is in making discrete categorisations whereas it is much more complex and fluid. I can defintely relate to some of the interviews and testimonials from people who identify in this way. I don't think you should shoot down what his work means because you are denying the way that some people do genuinely feel.

@gp4nut When someone approaches a study with a presupposition and frames subjective results as science, their work is trash. He's incredibly damaging and the evidence is that people in the community actually take him seriously.

@karmatic1110 but i and many others can personally relate to what he says. trashing this is like saying that i am just "confused" as many people have been treated wrongly throughout history. i think his only mistake is being too simplistic in his categorisation.

@gp4nut No. Being able to relate to what he states does not legitimize his research or conclusions. Andrea James has a great series of videos on this somewhere on Youtube. Do fetishes exist? Yes, but to state that lesbian TSes are simply fetishists is crazy. His "scientific method" is worthless and a lot of the people he interviewed were misquoted.

Autogynephilia type of sexual response or fantasies are not exclusive to transsexuals. They are quite common among the Gay, Lesbian and Bi sexual communities
A number of my Gay and Lesbian friends have reported to me that when they imagine themselves with a more attractive body they get turned on and have pleasured themselves to it. I makes sense they are sexually attracted to the type of body they would like to have.
Blanchard's interpretation of what these fantasies mean is incorrect.

@SecondLifeDesigner Autogynepheia is a very specific definition. One cannot simply apply it to different segments of the population. Furthermore, fetishizing an idea is not the same as a specific BS theory.
