@XDrumHxCX Hi, The heads on the kit are as follows - Remo emperor coated all round on batter heads, Remo Ambassador clear on resonant sides, Remo Powerstroke 3 Coated on Kick drum batter. Heads are a personal opinion for everyone so I couldn't reccomend any, it is also down to the tuning of the drums, the same kit with the same heads could sound completely different depending on how it is tuned. Part 2 coming up...

@XDrumHxCX I find that emperors are my favourite heads to use on kits, clear give a much more resonant and boomier sound, where as coated give a much closer and warmer sound. I always have clear heads on the resonant side, however, Bonham got his iconic sound by using coated heads on the resonant side. You need to experiment. With the tuning I prefer to have the resonant side tuned higher than the batter as it creates a shorter resonance.

Hey thanks for the video!! Man it's awesome!! Question- im waiting for my chestnut fade kit- should I cut a hole on the front head of the bassdrum?? i dont mic. i just don't know, which would be better?

@dannysanchez31
If you are not going to be micing the kit up then leave the res. head whole. You will get a little bit more of a rounder sound. It's a good idea to have a head for gigging and recording with a hole in and one for acoustic things without mics.

@fluffyninjas They are all from the Zildjian Avedis range. It's a 16" Medium Crash.
