  • @TheShawdowParliament it sounds to me that you are eargerly to see our Great Nation fall or wanting and wishing us to fall. However, you are not in the US Military or ever been through it to know if we are so-called an Empire. You can apotheosize all you want about the USA is so called Empire, but until you join our Military you will never know.

  • @RJHOLMES2009 One of my oldest friends was thinking about joining the Marines. So I sort of know what it's like, but the whole notion of the nation as a Empire..is not so crazy.

  • @TheShadowParliament No you don't know what its like because you yourself haven't been through it. your old friends ''was'' or ''is'' thinking of joining the Marines? and how is it not crazy of of having that ideology that the USA is an Empire?

You are entitled to what you believe in the USA is by your ideology but hey! you don't have to stay in this Great Nation you are more than welcome to move out of this Country anytime you please;)

  • @RJHOLMES2009 I do,who are you to think that your experiences matter than those of someone elses? Some people remain in this country, because its a easy life. Simple, anymore comments like yours..and they will be removed.

  • I get how Canadian media is very similiar and and at some points exactly the same as the US. But Canada is not a vassal state of the US, Canada has many different cultures, languages and identities... and that I believe makes us, truly... Canadian, the fact that we don't have one single identity or culture, that we are a culture of cultures...

  • Great Britain, not England. Occupation by treaty terms is not empire, korea was defended by the UN, not America alone. Great Britain dismantled its empire itself, Canada is not a satellite state, simply because it doesnt raid you and you dont have to invade it doesnt mean its whimpering in the corner. Philippines would have done for an example of being an empire, you know, by the actual definition of what an empire is? Influence doesnt make you an empire or bully! it could be wisdom, wealth etc.

  • Here's an interesting fact. The state of California has a higher population and GDP than all of Canada.

  • The rich declared independence for THEIR freedoms not ours. Ever since we've struggled with them for the same rights and we getting there slowly but surely. All it takes is one misstep however and it'll all be shot to hell. @1AdrianR Hate to say but you are a vassal, at least 'til Canada gets its papers straight.

  • Liberty? HA!

  • @1AdrianR America's financial abuse, self indulgence and unwillingness to pay taxes has caused recessions throughout the world. And the recent debt crisis: MENTAL. America held the world hostage as America came close to defaulting and, in the end, not making much of a difference. Sarah Palin, George W. Bush and Donald Trump, so often in the media, are embarrassments, leading to America becoming the internationally hated laughing stock it is today.

  • Canada will never be yours! We are a VASTLY different nation with different people, different (and better) governmental system, different attitudes and with different ties! Canada is NOT a vassal state! And Britain! We'll never surrender! Britain is entirely distinct from America with their rich history, monarchy and traditions! America is internationally hated due their behaviour as exemplified in 'politicians' such as George W. Bush, Sarah Palin and Donald Trump (not any more).

  • @TheShadowParliament

try reading The "Tragedy of Korosko" by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. It's interesting to see how the more things change the more they stay the same. Call it imperialism, but there will ALWAYS be the big kid on the block, and for better or worse, they call the shots. And so far, nobody has stayed on top.

PS, I'm in the Army because being American has done a whole hell of alot for me, and I'd like to think the world.

  • Canada a vasle state? And so how is it we can disagree with the US? How is it we where not in Vietnam or Iraq? How is it we don't do everything you ask us to do? The answer, where allies but not a vasle.

  • i hope the usa is destroyed, especially if it was by canada
