http://www.TheTruthAboutShockCollars.com explores ideas on alternative ways to use a remote collar. Rather than just being a tool for punishment or correction the shock collars of today offer the user much more finesse and softer levels of stimulation. This advancement in technology allows us to use the collar as a gentle prompt and guidance system for teaching recalls and other behaviors.
@SBURGER0304 Cannot come with any lamer excuse? But I can tell you that we trained our dog WITHOUT any painful methods and instruments and he listens perfectly!;)

I dont understand your response/comment. people teach/train and use different techniques. this is just one way of doing it. over here in asia, they smack their kids for doing something wrong. in america its not allowed. its just different. to each their own.

@fetterArsch, Do YOU have any videos of yourself training that we can view? I'd just love to see some.

People really need to start understanding that the best training method is a combination of positive/aversive training. Do you think that pups mother taught it manners by positive reinforcement? No, when that pup went near her food she snapped at it to show it that that was unacceptable. Way back in the day a shock collar was very much so inhumane. These days, in the hands of a EXPERIENCED professional it is a great tool. As long as you can read the temperament of a dog and his/her stress level.

Poor abused dog. Her wagging tail and obvious joy is a mere mask for the terror in her heart. *Sarcasm* Sorry about all the knuckleheads psychoanalyzing the obviously happy puppy

An ecollar can save a dogs life. From either being out down or in my dogs case a very high prey drive and chasing cars

Fetter where can I see your videos at. How many dogs have you saved from being put down? Which humane societies have you volunteered at? If you don't have any videos yet please post one of a dog that is mean or scared and then post the other video and amount of time it took you to accomplish your end result. Thanks I look forward to seeing a comparison.

@HoS777 Did you read my comments? Pain doesn't always shows up in making noises and blood! Animals are good at hiding pain! Here again for you: most animals don't show pain, because in the animal kingdom showing pain is a sign of weakness. That would make them a easy target for predators and/or can be unfortunate in a pack(rank). It is sad that you still need such primitive and sadistic training tools to train a dog! Why not using humane methods(like leash, harness/normal collar)???

@fetterArsch (cont.) showing pain, that's BS and you know it. You should see what happens when my friend's gets a shot. She screams bloody murder and foams at the mouth. The e-collar just makes her jump a little bit, like you'd jump if you got a static shock! She doesn't even yip or yelp. It's just slightly uncomfortable. Try it yourself.

@fetterArsch Have you ever put an e-collar on yourself? It will hurt you more than it hurts a dog because it's touching the skin, but, no biggie, even the highest level doesn't cause real pain. On the low settings, which are what most trainers use UNLESS a dog just has a REALLY high tolerance for it and doesn't care, it doesn't hurt at all. In fact, I didn't even notice it until Level 3, and that didn't hurt, it felt like a static shock you'd get from shuffling in socks! As far as dogs not
