These are the crazy feathers that make me smile :) You'll see some have boxes, but I am not a breeder (not that I have anything against breeders). They all have toys, a mist system and good food of course.
The Amazons! They ake up the majority of the flock :) Wyatt & Cecil (LCA) I raised both in 95 & 96. Cecil had a bad accident at a pet store (I fed for a breeder, and thas where he was selling him). She almost did not survive. She went thrugh temporary blindness, massive seizures and lost the ability to move around. She regained most of her motor skills but did end up with permanent damage. She doesnt like to be handled too much because of this. She and Wyatt (both females) are the very best of friends. Tasha & Pancho are the "more tame" of the DYH 'Zons. Tasha is the best talker of the bunch and is always sure to get some laughs :) She is very sweet but Pancho insists she keeps her distance. Ruger & Trixie (2nd DYH pair) are just absolute eye candy :) I have had Trixie since 1996, unsure of her age but suspect she was an import bird too. Odie & Charlie share a cage but are divided by a double wall. They cant always play nce and it is safer to keep them seperate. Both used to live with females - Huey, my sweet YNA female died because of a vet's inexperience :( I miss her dearly :( Cyan used to be with Odie but they decided to seperate after 6 years of living together. About 6 months later, Cyan became eggbound (she produced a gigantic egg!). She was never in distress and had the very best vet taking care of her. She is now one of the house crew, and is extremely bonded to me. She is like a green cockatoo :) Di & Ricky (RLA) are an extremely bonded pair - though Ricky takes a swipe at Di, he was just telling her not to get too close to me (she wouldnt as she is quite afraid of people). Last but ertainly not least, Phlare and Traveler (MRHA), Phlare is the one I filmed first, he is an older man, around 50-60 years old. He came to me when his owner of 25 years became unable to care for him, she was a very sweet lady and took good care of him. He used to be the quietest amazon I ever knew, until he met his BFF Traveler (both are males). Phlare and Traveler are typically never apart. Traveler was fnd flying free but thepeople that caught him were never able to locate his owners. So, he came to me. It has been wonderful seeing both the boys change and become very good friends. It makes me so happy for Phlare who has been a single guy all these years.
