This shows how far GG fell since the beginning. Something this dramatic and over the top never would have happened under its original production team.

Ugh Gilmore Girls was always over the top but this is just ridiculous. In the early days the awkward sadness between Rory and Luke would be enough to get across the message that he wasn't doing so well but that was just to subtle and poignant for the writers/producers. They had to crash a car into his diner to show that he wasn't coping.
