  • @fir3share78 There you go ! You have learned a bit of philosophy and poetry. Been introduced to Rudyard Kipling. Can now recognise an elaborate piece of mechanics and its applications. So here is a little bit more philosophy which is mine. Read everything: Talk to everybody: Listen more than you speak till you are 65: Believe nothing: Be eclectic in everything. take care.
  • @supersesqui Haha awesome, yeah I looked up what it was, looks like it is a pretty precise mechanism.

  • I understand the mechanism, but the regulation is not mentioned.

    Mechanical time pieces are regulated with various types of an oscillator.

    My question is, how does a film run at a specified frame rate? What is used as as oscillator.

  • @philip How interesting, never knew that, thanks!

  • угу - мальтийка

    в проекторе для прерывистого движения часто юзают.

  • @DCTriv It's also used in film projectors. It keeps the film in place long enough for persistence of vision to make the pictures move smoothly. Check into 'Geneva Drive' on Wikipedia.

    I KEEP six honest serving-men (They taught me all I knew);

    Their names are What and Why and When And How and Where and Who.

    I send them over land and sea, I send them east and west;

    But after they have worked for me, I give them all a rest.

    Please read the description at top of page. You must develop a curious mind to educate yourself. If you see something you don't understand...dont just shrug but try to find out what it is.

    Here is a little poem by Rudyard Kipling. Read it, learn it and use for the rest of your life.

    It will be in next response box.

  • @supersesqui What is it supposed to be?
