Jason Bonham (John's son) with Led Zepagain (the Los Angeles area Zep tribute band) performing 'Rock and Roll' as the encore to Zepagain's special 1977 Zep tour set - Sat March 21, 2009 - W. Hollywood CA USA - it was a blast!!! (Last time I saw Jason performing this was at the O2 in London with the mighty Zep themselves!) Oh, when Jason throws his drumsticks out at the end, felt like one hit me smack in the head, then an arm or two reaching for it collided with my face (sending my glasses flying, as well - ha!) -- that's why the video's messed up at that part (no excuse for the rest of the bumpiness - had to rock out a little, too, of course!!!) Sorry about the poor quality - this was shot with the video function of my still camera, not a *real* video cam, plus YouTube doesn't seem to favor my .MOV Quicktime file uploads, either...

Jason Bonham (guest drums on this one), Steve Zukowsky (guitar, theremin, mandolin, bow), Jim Kersey (drums), Jim Wootten (bass, keys, mandolin), Swan Montgomery (vocals, mouth harp)

  • Well my story happens in Montreal 15 years ago, 4th row center, about where YOU were and Bonham ends the show and comes in front of his drum to throw his sticks, he looks at me right in the eyes and spins one into my hand that claps to catch it. BOOM, that was MY moment. A guy comes and gives me $50 cash for it right then, I took it. FREE SHOW...!!! Thanks for making me remember. Goose bumps.

  • @ritchysmith Love it, great story! (feelin' your goosebumps on *my* arms. :-) Rock - and ROLL!!! -- thanks for sharing! -- Catherine

  • So... once Zepagain reaches the twilight of THEIR years (long time surely), what will the next generation of Zep tribute be called? Led Zepagainandagain?

Much love all around... your pal, db

See my photos at dirkbag . com.

  • yes, definitely take him up on this suggestion and check out dirkbag22's photos pages at dirkbag . com. -- there are some great ones there from this same show, and other shows/bands, too (he's a very talented photographer)

  • Great video, Cat!!! Sorry again about the cussing at the end.. I wanted that drumstick! :-)

  • Hey, sweetie - no problem whatsoever! I wanted to capture the memory of what it was *really* like up there, not some pristine video. Had I had even one molecule less of self control, I'd have thrown the camera down and done some serious moshing, myself! The audience was AWESOME! I mean, just check out everyone singing along and going friekin' nuts!
