A strong, competent, remarkable and proven local bank manager, Marisa Bernal was removed without a severance package. Only weeks prior was she presented with a large engraved crystal clock courtesy of Citibank celebrating her banking contributions after 25 years! What hypocrisy!
Shame on Citibank for releasing such an intelligent, kind, and devoted manager. Someone that - because of these skills and talents - created a positive working environment for employees, and a trusted and pleasurable experience for customers. This act by Citibank very clearly demonstrates where their priorities lie ... and it's certainly not with their customers.

Even more: As a business owner I accepted that most banks do not take time to service small business. My opinion changed in 1995 when I met Marissa, transferring all of my banking business to her Glen Fed. I grew to know I could rely on Marissa for all of my banking needs. Even when I moved 30 mile from her branch, I drove to her branch, upon receiving extremely lethargic service from my new local branch manager. Marissa is one-of-a-kind. I would defiantly again drive distance to bank with her.

The release of Marissa was one of the greatest mistakes I have even witnessed in business management. She understood her clientele, retained and grew their businesses and consistently provided the highest standards of professionalism and customer service. I am still seeking a financial institution that understands the specific needs of small business the way Marissa does. I assure all that are reading this post that I will take my business to wherever Marissa settles.
