The GCLP empowers future leaders with the knowledge, skills and experiences needed to successfully navigate regional change in the 21st century. It includes multidisciplinary courses focusing on leadership techniques and the economic, social, and political aspects of development and competitiveness; field trips to important multilateral institutions as well as U.S. policymakers relevant to the Latin America region; and case studies to identify and illustrate strategies that have succeeded and those that have not.
The GCLP is tailored to the current reality of the Latin American region in the context of global trends. The GCLP has the following principal objectives: (i) help participants understand the principal barriers to development in Latin America today; (ii) train them to create and lead initiatives that begin to overcome these barriers and promote competitiveness and wealth creation.
