At Northminster Presbyterian Church, Cuyahoga Falls OH October 16, 2011 for their Scottish Heritage (sort of a tartan-kirking) service. Thanks to them for the invitation! For pipers: the bass drone is my brass-plastic uilleann-influenced prototype. I love the deep fundamental element to its tone, and there's just a little more richness I'm seeking in further testing with the lower bore segment. Drone reeds are custom of cane bodies and plastic tongues, with a weight on the bass tongue end. The chanter reed is by Noel Slagel and has been in service in my War-Mac chanter for 25 continuous years! They really get steady after the first decade. I'd been off playing for an entire year due to health problems but now hoping to get back to it as I begin my 45th year.
That was really nice. The tone is perfect. 25 yrs for one reed? Amazing.

@Pipezilla Thanks! Yes; I ended my solo & band competing in 86 but kept active playing for Highland dancers, in stage band, street busking, weddings & funerals and more. I shaved down the lower end of the reed a little and fit it with a 2 wrap wire bridle like the uilleanns use, and set it up fairly easy so I could play any time even if I wasn't feeling my best. If I don't break it I'll play it the rest of my life.
