I've tried. It doesn't work very well because you have to card it and you just end up with a really lumpy yucky yarn.

i have a question can cotton balls be used to spin yarn.. is cotton right?

I received some raw wool that needs to be washed in order to even start the dying process. How do you go about washing fresh wool right off the sheep?

Do you use for microwave for cushings dye? I agree a video on the stove would be wonderful.

Can you do a video showing on the stove top? That would be so cool and a great gift to your viewers.

will this dye bleed when washed once it has been spun and made into a garment?

@Jenniguin Not if you cook it until the water is clear and you rinse it thoroughly!

How long does it take to cool down?

It depends on your microwave. Usually an hour or two for me. Your comment about dyeing with cushings accidentally got deleted (sorry!) but I wanted to let you know that you CAN dye with cushings in the microwave, but I dye MUCH bigger batches, on the stovetop.
