What does Mitt Romney stand for? Find out: http://www.whichmitt.com

In Michigan, in 2008, Mitt Romney said: "I'm not willing to sit back and say, 'Too bad for Michigan, too bad --too bad for the car industry, too bad for the people who've lost their jobs. They're gone forever.'" January 14, 2008

But, just two and a half years later outside of Michigan: "That's exactly what I said. The headline you read which said 'let Detroit go bankrupt' points out that those companies needed to go through bankruptcy to shed those costs." June 3, 2011

  • I'll have to look into the context of both comments. The fed govt bailed and rewarded out the execs whose mismanagement caused the problems & other millionaires, and did nothing to help the blue-collar workers & middle-level managers who lost their jobs anyway, having done nothing wrong. It sounds like Romney is advocating the opposite, which is exactly what we should have done.
