Γηρομέρι Θεσπρωτίας/Ήπειρος Πάσχα - Giromeri Thesprotia/Epirus Easter

Μοναδικό στο Πανελλήνιο ταφικό έθιμο που λαμβάνει χώρα στο Γηρομέρι Φιλιατών Θεσπρωτίας τη Δευτέρα του Πάσχα στο νεκροταφείο του χωριού. Αμέσως μετά τη λειτουργία οι συγγενείς του νεκρού παραγγέλνουν στους οργανοπαίχτες το αγαπημένο τραγούδι του νεκρού, όσο ήταν στη ζωή, πάνω από τον τάφο του. Η πομπή θα περάσει από όλα σχεδόν τα μνήματα, ακόμη και σε εκείνα που δε βρίσκεται άμεσος συγγενής. Η ατμόσφαιρα είναι ιδιαίτερα συγκινητική και συγκλονιστική συνάμα. Η σιωπή της κατάνυξης στο χώρο του νεκροταφείου ξαφνικά σπάει με τους ήχους του κλαρίνου σε γνήσια ηπειρώτικα τραγούδια. Οι συγγενείς αναπολούν στιγμές του παρελθόντος "γιορτάζοντας" μαζί με τους δικούς τους τη Λαμπρή.

Στο συγκεκριμένο βίντεο βλέπουμε την έναρξη του εθίμου στο κάτω άκρο του νεκροταφείου. Η λήψη έγινε τη Δευτέρα του Πάσχα, 20 Απριλίου 2009 από τον Κώστα Μήτση.

A unique in Greece, tribute to dead, custom that takes place at Giromeri of Filiates in Thesprotia ( Epirus/ Greece) every Easter Monday at the cemetery of the village. Right after the liturgy the relatives of the dead is asking from the present musicians the favorite song that the dead used to dance when he/she was in life. This happens over the tomb of the dead and the atmosphere is very touching and moving. The quietude of the cemetery breaks from the sounds of the clarinet, which plays pure epirotic songs and melodies. The relatives are remembering beautiful moments of the past by celebrating with their people Easter.
