Indie music is music that is independentley produced, so it's not supported by any large record label.
However this sort of music managed to define itself into the alternative rock genre, which is why some artists, such as the killers (in their first album at least anyway) can get away with calling themselves indie.

@emmakwall twas on both I just found out. it was on hot fuss in the uk and australia versions. in the us Change your mind replaced it.
