I think that triangular safety deally isnt a bad idea.
Considering how you yourself mentioned how easy it'll be to lose/break the engine soul.
Consider it your insurance policy. You don't want to have to go out and buy another one just so you can get your audio features back

If I bought my child a toy sword I automatically assume that at some point he/she will use it as a melee weapon whether or not the toy has audio commanding the child to do so. It would be pretty absurd for a parent to buy a child a toy weapon then complain that it has audio compelling the child to act violently.
