Welcome to part 3 of my Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ7 sample video coverage. This time I made the videos myself because I bought a black TZ7 a few days ago!

However, it's not my intention to keep it, I bought it purely for testing purposes (to see if I like it enough to buy it for real). I will return this TZ7 to the store I bought it from and will get a Japanese or American model in it's place. Why? Because the European TZ7 that I currently have records at 50fps and has a recording limit of 15 minutes per clip. The Japanese and American TZ7/ZS3 records at 60fps and dont have this annoying recording limit.

Specifications for the videos in this clip:
AVCHD Lite H @ 13mbps - 1280x720 @ 50fps

Upcoming weekend I will visit an anime convention and the TZ7 is coming along so expect a new video soon.

Succes!

  • Hi, Great video. Can I ask you about the noises that start about 15secs into your video, is that the AF doing its thing because I have this issue on my camera but when I call Panasonic they say its because the Mics are stereo and based on a small camera they will pick sound very clearly.

It does sound like it could be autofucus working but I also get like a low tone beep sound every couple of secounds

  • @ryanonpiano Sorry for not responding earlier... it's indeed the electronic internals of the autofocus that you hear. What Panasonic told you is true. The low tone beep that you hear is memory card dependable. There are more users and YouTube videos complaining about this. I use Transcend SD cards and don't have this problem. It's also confirmed on several forums that with Transcend cards there isn't such a problem, I don't know about other cards.

  • How large was the file?

  • whoa! thank you for bringing me to your part 3! it looks great!

  • decent!

  • can it record in .avi format?

  • Dank je wel voor je tips. Ik ga het morgen proberen.

  • @ryanonpiano try replacing your memory card or removing it and try recording with the internal memory then see if the annoying sound disappears.

  • @pierrewikberg It isn't 60fps in its true sense. the camera records only at 30fps and then doubles every frame to produce the 60fps.
