The notion that we are in Afghanistan to make our country safer is misguided. Security experts and ex CIA personnel agree that both wars, in Iraq and Afghanistan, have made the Middle East and the world much more dangerous for Americans and for any American presence overseas.
In fact over the last seven years terrorism has increased worldwide. We have spent a tremendous amount of resources and blood to achieve the result of more terrorism in the region.
The truth is that American military escalation in Afghanistan is not making us safer or more secure. It is harboring the worst sentiments among the Afghan population, giving the Taliban reasons to increase their recruitment and providing.
The next installment of Rethink Afghanistan focuses on the issue of security for Americans at home and abroad. It features ex CIA agents who have worked in the region presenting with accuracy the reasons why the conflict is making us less secure.
Stayed tuned for the release of the full video. In the meantime, become a Peacemaker. Receive up-to-the-minute information through our new mobile alert system whenever there are Afghan civilian casualties from this war, and take immediate action by calling Congress.

that is an easy answer...U.S.A gets involved in everything, that is nun of their business just to look like heroes..but end up looking like zero...Canada has a small army cause canada does not like to get involved with others, also most countries know that the war is based upon a lie and refus to support a lie ...

I never suggested that the Taliban had anything to do with 9/11. Regardless, they're still an insult to modern humanity and need to be destroyed.
To hell with the 'love of nations' theory. Lets enforce logic and reason on those that are stuck in the dark ages. It's for the greater good.
There is evidence that we are defeating the taliban, and lots of it. 23,11523,550 Taliban insurgents have already been killed. Only 6,782 ANA and NATO troops have been killed. It's been quantified, dude.

I think you'll find they had Saudi passports and were funded by Al Queda, not the Taliban.
So you're saying saying "declare war on the religion of Afghanistan in order to free it. What happened to the love of nations theory?
There's no evidence at all we're destroying the Taliban. The deaths of soldiers has gone dramatically up this year, so no matter how many of them we kill they will defend their nation as we'd do if we were invaded.
This war is unwinnable like Viet Nam was.

the 9/11 crew weren't just from Saudi. I don't think that it is too important to dwell on the country that they came from. It is their religion that should be focused on, and the book that promotes such terrible behaviour.
Sure, they may have ulterior motives, but who cares, they're still destroying the Taliban. We should just mandate the whole country and reap the benefits. The Afghans would benefit too, eventually. The ends would justify the means. Lets impose civilization on Afghanistan.

If the true evildoers are in Pakistan what are we doing in Afghanistan? 9/11 were from Saudi.
If the true reasons are compassion and love we'd have intervened in Rwanda and should be in Darfur now. Ethnic cleansing was and is taking place yet NATO did and still does nothing.
If it were a combined feeling of love towards our fellow human beings why do some countries send so many more troops than others?
Our lads, paid for by our taxes should not be dying for any foreign land.

As far as I'm aware this war against the Taliban is supposed to be by the concerted efforts of NATO.
How is it, then, the USA, UK and Canada do all the dying?
A brief glance at the number of troops other countries sent there shows just how unfair this is:-
I'm from the UK, next to the USA we have sent more troops than anyone else.
We have 8 times the number of troops Australia sends. 4 times that of Canada, more than France and Germany combined, 4 times that of Italy, Why?

Nobody suggested that Afghanistan had anything to do with 7/7. That was British born Muslims of Pakistani descent. It is for the good of human dignity that we extinguish the taliban. The ANA and NATO soldiers are acting in a selfless way for the greater good.

If our young men are not dying for their country why should we allow them to die to free a foreign land? A foreign land that I doubt really wants to be freed.
They have a tribal culture that will never be like the West.
It's not only the Taliban we're fighting, many young men are fleeing to their cause because they see us as an army that has invaded their land.
No Afghans were involved in 9/11 or the London Tube bombs. Get our troops out to defend their own lands.

They're not dying for nothing. They may not be dying for their country, but they helped destroy the Taliban, so their deaths were not in vein. We will be in Afghanistan for as long as it takes to free their country from the Taliban and those that support it.
