@numstuck I wouldn't really say post-rock is something that's still alive. It kinda hit its prime in the mid-90's through the early oughties, and hasn't really had much interesting coming out of it since, especially not in the form of new bands, which seem to be mostly sort of derivative and formulaic.
Anyway, there's lots of good shit out there. Disappears, EMA, Deerhunter, Fucked Up, Kurt Vile, Male Bonding... anyone who wants new stuff should check all that out, for starters.

@damianocunego7 You think they're bad, you ought to listen to people my age whining. (I'm mid 40s).Always banging on about how music isn't as good as in the 70s & 80s. Really? They tend to forget the toss and focus on the few good bands/singers. There is loads of great music out there, if you're prepared to look for it. Rock on, as no one says anymore. Hehe.

It is pretty pathetic with people in their late 30's saying music's been dead since sometime in the nineties. Although this was a time when hit music actually where pretty good, there have been bad music topping the charts at all times. I mean, look at Abba, the hair-metal of the 80's and remember, you guys had fucin Macarena. There are still great new bands, its just you don't have the time anymore to look it up...

@ajbram You just got old. There's the Kills, there's million other bands that youngsters like as much as you liked Sebadoh and Dino Jr back then. Except they're not on MTV anymore.
