Before we begin, I would like to thank the Lord Jesus Christ for my life, and all the gifts which I've been given in it, including the ability to make this extension. Your name be glorified, my Savior, even in something as small as this. Amen.

Is it really such a good idea to engrave your name on history? I mean, that could qualify as vandalism, couldn't it? Welcome once again to the stage of Amateur Extension Theater 2000, viewer; I'm your historically minded host, Alkahest.

Note: This extension was previously a standard length track enhanced and uploaded by Moonravi, whose channel is sadly no longer in operation. I downloaded the enhanced track via an audio ripper, and extended it from there. Just FYI.

Soul Calibur III is a fighting game produced and developed by Namco as part of their on-going hit "Soul" series. Released for the PS2, it was set four years after the events of SC2, during which time the wicked Soul Edge came into contact with Soul Calibur, resulting in their becoming entwined in a "Union of Souls" that rendered both blades dormant. Warriors of light and dark venture forth to reclaim these twin swords, either to try and destroy Soul Edge's evil forever, or to restore it and lay waste to the world in unending conflict.

'Forsaken Sanctuary' is heard in the stage "Lost Cathedral", a majestic palace of water that features architectural designs from every major European culture in existence. It is an enigmatic location that only those possessing an unbreakable will, as well as a willingness to gamble with their very lives, can ever hope to find. And once they do...

Right from the beginning, you can tell this is a very powerful track. The pipe organ is featured heavily throughout the structure of the composition, alternating between pulse-poundingly dramatic and a strain of melancholy regret. Drums, trumpets, and other instruments help to build the melody to an astounding crescendo; if the Phantom of the Opera were ever featured in the Soul series, this would no doubt be his stage theme.

Incidentally, both Siegfried and Nightmare share Lost Cathedral as a stage to be encountered in. Siegfried, once the only too willing host of Soul Edge's perfidious evil, seeks to atone for his past crimes and rid the world of Soul Edge; conversely, Nightmare, the embodiment of Soul Edge clad in armor like the kind which once enveloped Siegfried, hopes to be restored to the cursed blade from which its vile essence was expelled. Which of them will triumph? Only time... your style of gameplay... and future SC titles, will tell.
