  • Good content. Interesting. I love the subject of training and development so much!!! Recently I also attended a free online training about training at trainingforthetrainer. com got my certificate as an Associate Trainer.

  • I'm fascinated by the passion in some of these comments. The 100's of studies conducted on Kolb's ELT model alone should provide some weight to the video - despite Dr Willingham's very well delivered blow to the topic. As an educator and a PhD I can simply say that introducing new subjects works best when more senses are engaged and different approaches to learning activities are utilised. Cheers!

  • @jfluter I am saying that there is non, so that will be very difficult

  • @theiamania Can you give specific examples of this independent research?

  • Where exactly did you get your PhD from theiamania? I do not see evidence from your wonderful dismissal of the video or learning styles - perhaps you should research the amount of studies done on the subject - dating back many years.

  • Results of valid, empirical observations of the effects of learning styles on students are clear. Teachers use of learning style information has no effect, or sometimes a harmful effect on learning. Clearly, folks behave unethically when they take peoples time and/or money and dont provide any evidence on whether an investment in learning styles is a just use of scarce school resources.

So Id challenge the person in this video, Can you offer any valid evidence that it actually help kids?

  • I love the tips given when addressing learning styles. They're very malleable to any studying personality.

  • Learning Styles is bullshit. Its a theory of learning that is supported by no evidence what so ever - other than that created by the people who earn money on teaching teacher to teach using "learning styles". No independent research has ever shown it to have any base in reality.
