He Shall Be Called

An original song by myself and Rashid walker. Recorded for North Central University's Christmas concert.

The song is about the passage in Isaiah 9:6

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given:
and the government shall be upon his shoulder:
and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor,
The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

The lyrics are pretty straight forward, until the vamp. There, because there was nothing written about the Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace, we had each section of the choir sing another worship song that talked about that aspect of God.

So North Central's women's chorus says of the Everlasting Father the song: "Of the Father's love begotten, ere the worlds began to be."

The Sopranos of the main choir sing of the Mighty God: "What a Mighty God we serve!:

The Altos of the main choir also sing about the Everlasting and Might of God singing: "Forever God is Faithful! Forever God is Strong!"

The Tenors sing of the Prince of Peace singing: "Peace peace! Wonderful peace!"

The Bass' continue with the rising of the Sun
