  • @HingerlAlois

that was never official, it was implied and there might have been under the table agreements, but it was never on paper.

  • Nice vid, but for example with regard to the Cuban missile crisis one might have added that the USA came to the agreement with the Soviets, that it wouldn't invade Cuba and that it would withdraw its own missiles from Turkey, therefor the Soviets would withdraw their missiles from Cuba.

  • My history teacher showed this to us in History Class today. He thought it was really good and said he's going to use it from now on when introducing the Cold War :D

  • I never knew how serious it was until I read an official document that stated how my unit was out manned 20-1. If an invasion from the east occured my unit, not me but unit, life expectancy was calculated at a mere 18 minutes. I then saw a game sold in the PX about an infantry unit fighting world war 3 and my unit designation was on the troops uniforms. Makes a young soldier think real hard about where he is at and what he is doing there.

  • whats germany?

  • I always find it interesting, and disturbing, just how little people in their early 30's and younger know about this very important time in history. Even my wife doesn't understand the significance of the Fulda area. No matter how it started, Eastern block tanks and troops were going to pour through that area. I doubt that town would have survived the next two to three days. The continent of Europe, up to the Eural mts , would have ended up a radioactive graveyard within two to four weeks.

  • The Image of "HItler" at 1.08 is fake. This was an actual man but it was not Hitler.
