What is scary about all this, is that the republican party was the liberal party up until the late 30s. Americans that saw european right wing ideology (national socialism) as the most desirable political system flooded the party with pro-authoritarian sentiment and naturally were supported by corporations.

By the 80's the party was vehemently anti-liberal and anti-american to the core. Today we are seeing it fall apart from the inside as all right-wing culture is self-destructive.
