WotLK: Proto-dragons

The proto-dragons (also spelled protodragons) are a race of oddly-shaped dragons that serve the vrykul in the Howling Fjord. They live in an area of Utgarde Keep called the dragon pens. Vrykul use them as flying mounts to help them with their constant siege of Valgarde.

As of the Wrath beta patch, 8962, you can now acquire various colored Proto-drakes for various achievements:
- Black Proto-Drake
- Plagued Proto-Drake
- Red Proto-Drake
- Violet Proto-Drake

Three others are available as rare drops or from rare mobs:
- Time-Lost Proto-Drake
- Blue Proto-Drake
- Green Proto-Drake

I love protodrakes! They are definately the coolest mount in the game.

I have 3 different one, I wish I could get the plagued one since it is my favorite but it is gone forever. :(

@NatjelovesBillk yeeah. mine too. bad u cant get them anymore. its a plagued proto drake. u were getting it from Glory of the raider achivement. Dont clearly remember 10 man or 25 man. But u also got black proto for this achivement. both black proto and this plagued have been removed from the game. but those who had it. Were given a possibility to keep them.

i tried to get one proto drake but its so fucking hard!! the only one thets easy to get is the green PD but iven for that 1 you need to wait 6 days for the age to hach and its a low chanche that you get GPD
