On Tuesday, June 22, a former NYPD Sergeant, Jason Aiello, was shot and killed after he fired on officers responding to a 911 call placed from his Rosebank home.
@yoyrut10000 its not just people in ghettos or bad neighbourhoods that use slang either. i live in a nice neighbourhood and go to a self directed highschool, and i use slang all the time, i like being creative and thinking of new ways to say things.
I never said I was better than anyone. Slang is most definitely rude. It shows rebelliousness and a lack of care for one's language. Slang only gets worse over the years. Once everyone thought of "Dude" and a bad word, but it can't compare to what is said today.
@hockeyrapps3 I know that French is different in different places, it is called dialect. Well are you referring to the post Great Depression era? The number of ghettos were large around then due to more poverty for different reasons. Until FDR's New Deal, there was no such thing as social security, pension or any benefits such as that. Eventually the U.S. based its currency on silver, not gold and devalued its money. Also, it was closer to when Immigrants were entering the country.
@yoyrut10000 yeah it was dude, slang comes from everything. education was worse a long time ago, there were even more ghettos than there are now. languages are different everywhere. in french language is different in quebec and france. if you are so uptight that slang is rude to you, then you really have to open up. you arent superior to other people. you are the exact same. i dont find anything rude, i just see it as different personalities and characters.
@hockeyrapps3 Your browser is probably obsolete if it doesn't recognize "emoticon." And yes, language does change or "evolve" as time goes on. Honestly, slang years ago wasn't a result of a lack of a good education as it is today. Slang was kept separate from the street and the corporate world. Obviously there are words now that were looked down upon years back, but we are living in the "now" and slang is completely rude and improper. Go on a job interview and use "mad" instead of "many" or

"a lot" and see how fast they reject you. I don't care if the meaning has changed, but people calling each other "nigga" is highly rude.
