Very nice. I soak the pork shoulder in apple juice and onion before smoking it. Gives it a real nice flavor. Hope you'll take a look sometime. Thanks for a great video!

@D0KT3RD00M I smoke about 10-15 shoulders a year and I have never heard of the gland in it Where is it located ? Thanks for sharing

When buying a pork shoulder make sure to ask the butcher to cut the gland out. If you go to the butcher shop ask the butcher to bone the shoulder out,cut the gland out and tie the bone back on and you still get the full flavor of the bone(no homo). without dealing with it.

Great work on the video. Very helpful. I've done competitions for about 6 years or so with my father in law, and there's not much different than we do. Looks good, wish I had some right now.

Butt Rub is GREAT stuff. I use it a lot for different things. It's also awesome to sprinkle on sauteed mushrooms.
I have my first smoked butt going as we speak....
Should I buy a propane or charcoal smoker? what are the pros and cons? any taste difference?

@passionforguns For me charcoal is the way to go... propane is sooo much easier to use, much less clean up less monitoring. you will get a little less smoke from propane. my money is on a good charcoal smoker!
