This story would make a great first chapter in a movie trilogy or better yet a QUADrilogy based on Quenta Silmarillion, Beren & Luthien and The Children of Hurin. It would have to be VERY epic and mystical. Also very dark, echoing long lost tragedy stories like Beowulf or Shakespeare stories like Hamlet or King Lear.
