Conan the Barbarian is a 1982 film by director John Milius and is recognized as the acting breakthrough of bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger. It is loosely based on the Conan the Barbarian stories by Robert E. Howard and was written by Oliver Stone and John Milius.

Basil Poledouris' score for the film has to be one of, if not, the greatest score ever composed in the 80's.

Conan is based on the work of Robert E. Howard.

The movie was shot in Almería, Andalucía, Spain.

I have to admit, the origian Conan had one of the best sound tracks of all time.

arnold need to cameback as Conan, imagine a older Conan king with a beard and still in great shape..i know Arnold can workout for a year and be in great shape. he did it for Terminator 3..it be a fucking great comeback for him..it need to be a great story though and with same director of the 1th conan.. Arnold if you read this think about it, i be awesome!

@pulsare21 totally the recent Conan just never had this epic feel to it. A huge disappointment. Had sci fi channel written all over it.

@BooGooNFlowoo4Evoo yes i agree just because he cheated his wife and hide he had a kid they all mad about it, like he is the only one that ever cheated lol. and i think he was a great governor he did good stuff too;)

@pulsare21 Yeah, it would be super cool if they'd do one of the stories from the old books featuring Conan and his son Conn. After, as it were, Conan wears the jeweled crown of Aquilonia over a troubled brow. Very fitting indeed. I don't care what they say about Arnold Schwarzenegger in the news. He's still cooler than I will ever be.
