Bill H. and I made the journey to the Yegua above lake Somerville, Texas one Saturday morning in mid April to kayak and fish the creek. We were not to be disappointed as the bass, crappie and whitebass were very cooperative and we caught fish pretty much all day with several nice creek bass between two and five pounds. Flys, spinnerbaits and roadrunners were our choice baits for the day.

  • The Yegua Creek basin runs form Rockdale to Somerville Texas through Robertson and Burleson counties of central Texas.

  • I made another trip Monday to hike and video Newmans Bottom, but that's a whole nother story!

  • Probably one of the best trips to the creek ever!

  • Hey nice vid and where in Texas is that creek

  • u always find good music to go with ur awesome videos ...

  • great video.

  • I really enjoyed this video, good job. I lived a couple of hundred yards from the West Yegua creek, probably about 10 miles from where it runs into the main Yegua, and grew up fishing there for bass, mostly. One would be surprised at some of the fish, my best out of there was an 8 lb largemouth I caught while in high school.

Haven't been able to fish that muddy water in a while. Thanks for taking me back!

  • Great video

  • Looks like you guys had a really good day on the creek! Thank you for sharing.

  • Great video as usual! It looks like you and Bill had a good time.
