For what it's worth, I too am an atheist and AGREE with you - it IS a belief system. And not necessarily in NOTHING, either. I believe in LOTS of things - just not primitive, man-made superstition, is all!

Of course, I probably shouldn't have said that - for fear of starting another avalancial (if that's not a word, it SHOULD be - possibly with an "h" after the "c") thread of religious fervour! My bad.

@themoshmenace atheism is not something to believed in, and it isn't a question of comfort, per se. It is the very opposite of belief, in a religious sense. However, it does open the way to the possibility of seeing all things clearly, and from this, the wise may take comfort that he has done his best to understand the world as it is.
