Hundreds of people flocked to Venice High School Saturday afternoon April 10 for a festival celebrating the return of the school's Myrna Loy statue. The statue had fallen in disrepair and was removed. But a new one was built with donations raised by the Venice High Alumni Assn. Among those at the event was actor Beau Bridges, a Venice High graduate. He recalled appearing in a film with Loy when he was a child. "I think it's wonderful that you've done this," Bridges told the crowd. "I really believe that our journey begins with out history. "
Now they need a statue of Danny Zooko leaning up against the front wall with his t-birds jacket on with a lucky strike hanging out of his mouth.

Myrna Loy deserves to have this recognition renewed. Thank you so much VHS for honoring her and history. She would be delighted and I'm sure she is looking down and chuckling to herself. God bless you all. x

Welcome back Myrna! Now all good Gondo's should go to Tito's for tacos and salsa to celebrate. The Big Burger, Ships, the Clock and A&W are gone, but you still have to wait in line for Tito's.
