Using Google Maps Street View, I built this "drive" of rural Norway on highways 570 and 57. We start at the south end of 570 where it splits off from E39, head north until it ends at highway 57, continue north until the ferry terminal where we then head east then south on an unnamed rural road that takes us back to E39.
It is amazing to me how narrow and twisty these rural Norwegian roads can be. The sights and views along the way are spectacular including dramatic views of the fjords, bucolic hillside pastures and wonderful little towns along the way. There are also some pretty scary cliffside sections, narrow, one-land bridges and dark, unlit, single-lane tunnels. All of it very cool. This is as best I can do until I can actually go to Norway and drive and photograph these spectacular sights myself.
You just need to set it to some music, now!
