Hey Carlstens, I will send a prayer to Genaisha the god of beginings for your little miracle. I think it is time i start practising my faith a little more. I am a bit surprised that your other goat was also pregnant. I would have liked to see the look on your face when you realised this. Hope you get some sleep too. Take care of the entire family. Peace. Mike, London, On.

You will need to inject Selenium and Vitamin E into the "bad" muscles
I did it to my kid, you get used to it
I carried my around with an adult depends for a few weeks , but I ended up having to put him down :(
If you get it soon enough , might survive :)
Also your momma goats need some sort of lick with selenium in it :)
I didnt have that for my goats and thats why my kid had that problem.

I'm so so glad I seen this video!
White Muscle Disease is what is wrong with the lil buddy! :(
-inadequate uptake of selenium by forages grown on the soils
-White muscle disease (WMD) is a degenerative muscle disease found in all large animals. It is caused by a deficiency of selenium and/or vitamin E
DONT FORGET THE VITAMIN E!
GET TO THE VET ASAP!!
You dont want it to get to his heart
My baby goat had this, he didnt survive :(
I will pm you a link

Good luck with your little Miracle. Never done goats myself, just sheep. Know what you mean about lack of sleep - its the middle of lambing season right now. 25 ewes and 13 still need to lamb. Figured out a few years back that I can't afford the vet except in extreme emergency. Unless its a very valuable animal, its best to let nature do its work. Often, close observation of Momma and babe is all it takes. Momma and some time can do magic.
I just read that there is a more affective way to administer the Selenium....I think I also discovered why my goat didnt make it... the vet told me to inject my baby goat with the prescribed selenium amounts ... I just read that the injectable selenium doesnt have adequate levels of Vitamin E...make sure your vet gives the goat a better Vitamin E dose than an injection...I will say a prayer for your lil baby there :)

Selenium deficiency doesn't seem to be a problem around here. I've talked to a number of the "Old Timers" here, and no one has mentioned it. Calves, and lambs don't seem to have this walking affliction. The mom goat was on a "mineral block" all through pregnancy. I think the most probable cause is it was Mom's first pregnancy, and she may be a little premature.

Did Miracle get colostrum from her mom? ...Yep, that's right about the vet & them suggesting you put her down. We've had many animal survive that advice when we didn't take it. Good luck & God bless you & Miracle.

She's had colostrum from "Aunt" caramel, and colostrum replacer for about 36 hrs. then we switched her to milk replacer. Her mom dropped today, so we'll be trying to milk her and give some to miracle
