Objective:
Get IE 6, 7 and 8 working on a Mac.

Solution
VirtualBox w/ 3 MS vhd's - We will cover this solution in this tutorial.

Things you'll need:
You will need the following files to complete this tutorial. All of them are FREE! I will show you how to download them in the screencast, I just included the links for your convenience.

How to get Audio Working!
1) Download the ac97intc.sys system file directly using IE while inside the Virtual Box. Link Above ^
2) Add the hardware plus audio system file (ac97intc.sys) the way we added the network adapter in the video.

@higany8 If you used one of the VHD that is on microsofts site for developers as shown in the video, I believe you can just call and activate. I still think it might have an expiration date though. That is what I did, at least I think I did that, if I understand your question correctly.

Also wanted to make you aware of the change in the IE download link. Only IE6.exe is available, but, 7 & 8 are included in that link. Here is the information on the bottom of that page: Contains: Windows XP SP3 with IE6 VHD file and was fully patched on April 14, 2011...also contains the install files for IE7 and IE8. If you want to have separate base XP images for IE7 and IE8, you can copy the VHD, rename it, and install the other desired version of IE.

@mysticmoose Glad to hear you got it working. You can also try "The Unarchiver" I believe its free in the Mac App Store. Works pretty well for most things.

Thank you SO MUCH. Still can't successfully unrar/unzip .exe and multi .rar files with Zipeg or Unrar but got IE6 working and on the internet & can finally do what I need to do.

I've typed in "admin" "password" "Password" but none of them have worked... perhaps I'll download a different vhd
