I suspect the few instances of proper climbing in Third Man On The Mountain were due to Gaston Rébuffat being the director of the second unit. But alas most of the footage that was shot under his guidance ended up on the cutting room floor.

Ever see Banner in the Sky? That got me climbing. Alas, a fall landed me benign positional vertigo (Loose bearings in my ears.) Now a ladder is a challenge.

Yes, always bring a knife - I mean, otherwise how would you be able to cut the rope? I also always bring a bolt gun.
