you don't need to hit the firerod against the knife! a scraping motion with a lot of pressure will give you a better spray of sparks.

If you scrape the knife against the flint stick You will yeild alot more sparks. Your Tinder was perfect. If you scrape your knife against the Flint rod rather than striking your flint rod on the knife, you will be able to spark a fire everytime if your tinder is that good.

Whoaaa! You really need training missy !! Simply keep the back of the knife in contact and scrape along the flint length. You may have to repeat the process a couple of times. And be careful, We will worry about you!!
