I use 72 mhz. There are no lockouts and only glitches with 72. Never use PCM or anything with failsafes.

@Bally46 Onboard battery went dead, maybe the pilot froze, a snapped rod? You Will Never Know, it’s very easy to blame something else rather than admit defeat, every time I fly and crash my rc models I knew before sending the model to the sky I should not have been flying it... Can never be the pilot... ahahah... you know, we know that the model is not 100% but well it should be ok, let’s show off !
And let’s face it, a £10,000 aeroplane with £200 radio gear – what are your predictions?

@jnuness search youtube for Ali Machinchy's - Hawker Hunter Crash - The Last Flight

I have a DX7 that has lost me 4 planes and the last one was DEFINATLY a radio issue, However the Data Logger showed no fades or holds. any thoughts

Get a Spektrum 2.4, problem go for ever!

2,4 Ghz can also have problems.

Dude, no clue, haven't advanced to 2.4. I trust my rascal to a good 'ole fashioned Futaba 7C PCM. Great video! Glad it ended safely.

You could be having a ignition leaks. But your video was two years ago lol

Battery issues. Try to run on 6v not 4.8v

i would go back to 35mhz my 2.4 binned my plane this eve :( and nothing worse than seing your pride and joy not respond
I think a low battery would in fact cause this (tx or rx). As an extra safety measure I load test my receiver battery at .5 amps after every charge / before each flight. I never fly below 6.25 volts. You are probably using stronger servos; so your margin should be a bit higher (like 6.35v). I image that you've got $2500 USD invested in that aircraft so you cannot be too careful. If your receiver battery checks out, I would contact Futaba customer service.

thanks, i had no idea that this was the case, the battery was "topped" up before the last flight but it had been sat on the ground running for a while before we took off...is this a design fault with the futaba radio...not a good feature!

Frightening to watch. I use Futaba 2.4 on all of my planes. Which radio was this??? I'm glad that the aircraft was not lost!

Did you fly again at the same place?
Nobody else had their radio on, any other R/C field or track (cars) close by?
Any modification on Tx battery pack?
Are you sure the tx battery pack was fully charged?
Last thing I would say you have had a bad connection.

the tx bat had just been charged for this flight. Why would the radio glitch if the bat is low? is this the case for 2.4Gz sets?
