On Aug. 31st, Navy Lieutenant Bradley Snyder (St. Petersburg, Fla.) won gold in the men's 100m freestyle (F11) event in 57.43. The event was Snyder's first of seven events he'll be competing in at the 2012 Paralympic Games. Snyder was blinded by an IED in Sept. 2011 while deployed in Afghanistan.


The Paralympic Games, Aug. 29-Sept. 9, follow the London 2012 Olympic Games and are held in the same venues as Olympic competition.
