The selling of Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid for me was the turning point of our downfall, from then on we really spiraled downwards and we never really recovered also we never replaced Alonso with someone of his class and capabilities. (Poulsen,Meireles,Adam,Aquilan
i) all are not of the same quality as Xabi was and still is (especially the 1st one mentioned). I am happy we are on our way back to the top but I think there is still some way to go, Carling Cup final isn't a bad start though :)

we had gr8 midfield....gerrard at his best,alonso,mascherano ....sissoko was good too.generally we had good midfield.hamann was gr8 defensive midfielder too....i dont think we have good midfield players this year.....many of us accept that....hope to improve a lot....YNWA
