  • Great propulsion in your teaching, rpeek! You just go for it, and I hugely enjoy your reckless attack of banjo teaching, it has certainly taught me to think for myself, have a go, (or a hundred go's!) listen some more, have another hundred go's etc etc Wow my wife and kids hate my banjo by now, but they're very patient with me!

  • @flonksies If'n you stuff the back of your banjo full of old socks they'll hate it a little less. Just sayin'..

  • @rpeek Old socks? Then they gone hate ya'll fer stinkin'! I started playing ukulele, last December, because it makes me smile, then I realised I actually wanted a bigger instrument so I got a banjo two weeks ago. I can't play very well, yet, but the banjo makes me happy, even if I do knit my brow and scowl when I'm practicing, lol. I had some rabbit pelt lying around, so I use that for softening the sound, all my old socks are radioactive. Thanks for the lessons, I really enjoy your vids!

  • @wickedglass Well, I guess it don't have to be socks, but then where would the saying "stick a sock in it" be without an old sock or three in the back of yer banjer. Glad you're a playin'. That knitted brow thing is common. You're supposed to look serious when you play, even if you are having a great time. It's kind of like an Oxy-Moron kind of thingee..

  • it would be useful to see the basic drop thumb rhythm slowed right down.keep up the good work!

  • @albanjeify I think I've got that in my videos already. Did you look through my "how to play" playlist?

  • @tesseract9100 Yea, probably throwin' in a few pull off and hammer ons in there. That helps a lot on cripple creek.

  • In the "B" part are you plucking with your left hand? I'm having a one heck of a nail bitin time trying to frail like you haha

  • @amyockenden Awesome good for you! Hope you have great fun with it.

  • I'm learning Clawhammer, it is so much better than bluegrass in my opinion! Ah man, you're inspirational though - aim to be as good as you!
