@boch32 If the truth be known some nut case wants to supply more helocopters and men & over time by putting those men in harmes way instead of putting the dam fire out. if you call out the super scoopers and large tankers at the start of a possable dangerous fire it would be over with. the supers are made to fly in high wind?

@jaybowl I was working that fire, the reason you ground aircraft is usually because of wind. The aircraft can't fly in the high winds it's too dangerous. helicopters are in fact much more effective than fixed wing aircraft anyway, they can get more pinpoint drops and usually have a much quicker turn around time, plus when large tankers are flying overhead you have to restrict air traffic over the fire so helicopters have to stay away.

shutup you have no idea what your talking about. I was on the buckweed almost at the start of it and it was never "almost" contained. Most of us think super scoopers suck anyway especially where and how this fire was burning.
