Part 1: Perfection
This is the first part of my over 20 minutes long video about the legendary filly Ruffian.
It tells the story of Ruffians life from the beginning at Claiborne Farms, through to her first and second season, ending with her Filly Triple Crown victory and a perfect record.

Notes for this part:
The footage of the young filly galloping through a field obviously isnt Ruffian. It is in fact footage from Black Beauty. I was watching it and suddenly realised how much Ruffian and the filly (yes, filly, I know Black Beauty is a stallion but look closely) looked alike and I thought it was a nice addition. Actually, it is one of the first parts to be added to the video and it survived every edit.

I dont have any footage of Ruffians maiden race in this video. I know footage does exist, but it is of very poor quality. I decided not to add it to this video.

The video of the Astoria Stakes isnt very good quality and doesnt have any audio. Unfortunately, I wasnt able to find better footage.

I contacted the composer to ask if he knew where to get a copy and it turned out he could send me one. He is a real nice person and a wonderful composer!

Beautifully done! With excellent choice of music as well!

(The only suggestion I'd make is to have the text bits up a bit longer - they fade away too quickly for average readers to catch in full, and I had to rewind a couple of times because of this.)

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. It was a labour of love and I enjoyed making this!

And you're right about the text bits, most go by to quickly. I think in the end because I knew them practically by heart I cut down the time they were shown too much ;)

Hi - I am very impressed with your videos and was hoping that you could help me to get a copy of the soundtrack. I have been searching everywhere and read from your post that you were given a copy. Is there any way you can help me out or at least point me in the right direction? I too love sound track music, and actually just visited the grave of Ruffian last week at Belmont Park. Please help out a fellow fan?

@TheCptnSQUASH I watched a clip that was showing the two coming toward the camera, which showed birds flying in front of her. It appeared she spooked hard.

There was talk that, perhaps, this lead to her injury. Any thoughts???
