very nice. Check out Kathi MacDonald's vocal version (I think it's kathi macdonald 6 for some interesting different phrasing.

I have never coughed to get rid of excess air. Not sure why but have never needed to. Some harp players do and others don't.

I am not sure if the cough has any musical value or it's just a way to get rid of the extra air in the lungs.
