@LiamCSmith91 ...real shame Barber or Findlay didn't have the balls to race Denman against Kauto whre Kauto was most comfortable, instead of continuouslt relying on Kauto to take them on over 3m 2 1/2 furlong up a hill at cheltenham. Then again, they know as a lot do what would have happened had Denman attempted 2 mile at Sandown or 3 mile at Kempton against Kauto......they know Kauto would have smashed Denman a lot more than the 13 lengths he did at Cheltenham in 09. Kauto > Denman. Simples.

@LiamCSmith91 You obviously haven't seen a horse called Kauto Star. He's a french bred horse trained by Paul Nicholls and ridden by Ruby Walsh. He's won Grade 1 races over 2 mile and 2 1/2 mile. He's won Grade 1 races going right handed. He's won Grade 1 races on tracks undulating, flat and testing. He's won Grade 1 races 7 years running. He's got beat in Gold Cups and come back to win them. What a performance from denman on top weight.He was a true warrior and my favourite horse.I Doubt we will see his like again.This race proved it all but the real performance from denman was in the 2008 gold cup when he destroyed a so called unbeatable kauto star,that gold cup win was unmatchable he went out on a relentless gallop that day that had the rest of the field pushing from 4 out.Arkle and Denman the two best chasers of all time.Happy retirement denman.
