Yes looks like a male. I had a female tiel. She was dumb as a rock. Friendly to me, but hated my wife.

@dingleberry73 This is a 2.5 year old male. We also have 2 females (not "dumb") and three budgies. All are very intelligent, though they can be noisy when they decide to scream all at the same time.

He's a beautiful Tiel! But then again they're all beautiful. There's something about cockatiels. They are by far my favorite type of parrot.

Sheldon is a handsome and whistling guy. I did hear a snatch of the 'Star Wars' theme. Please tell the other person with the the Cockatiel that their bird is also a male. They've given the poor confused bird a girl's name!

@dingleberry73 If by "dumb" you mean that you couldn't teach her to whistle songs or mimick sounds, you should know that females don't have the same vocal abilities as males and are rarely capable of learning to sing.
