I take it you have never lived in a towerblock, regardless if all the neighbours are saints they are still depressing cramped, hard to maintain, and its not right for families to be liviing 13 storeys up in the air in such conditions.

He painted salford smokey tops on cardboard boxes from the shops...
Bring back tower blocks, built em high and stack em up to the sky, more and more people, more and more tower blokes.
They should be built 100 stories high

" They look pretty " yeah right! :P

I dont think the modernist visionaries of the 1950s and 1960s realised what would happen in the years to come.

I moved up there in the early 1970s. I found it a great place to live. Very little crime that I knew about. Before the drug thing started I suppose.

@AsboDolche LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL! I was saying exactly this! LOLOLOLOL!!! Thats for both points you made aswell I agree entirely but the second is just too funny LOLOLOL!

Nope i dont think they can afford high standard private secure apartment blocks
but i dont like the discusting 1960-70 ones that has plagued the U/K for 40-50 years, but i would like to see them demolished.
and maybe the non respecting, drug taking residents should get a job and maybe then they could afford "high standard private secure apartment blocks"
-
well do you think the people who live in these flats could afford "high standard private secure apartment blocks" and with Britain's population only getting bigger the only place to go is up.
-
hahah "they may look pretty"
haha i think he was mentally ill aswell
im surprised the U.K is such a nice a place to live as it is today considering the constant schemes to build these discusting british concrete flats everywhere.
id love to see every single one of these 1960-70 blocks demolished into the ground and replaced by modern high standard private secure apartment blocks like they have in manchester now which have no crime atall.

I Love My Tower Block And Me And My Other Half Both Work For A Living So Not Everyones A Benefit Scrounging Git! So Many Negative Comments On Tower Block Residents But When The Council Put Any Old Crap In There What Do Ya Expect? :)
Actually I grew up on Kersal Flats in the 1970s. 12 tower blocks containing 750+ flats on kersal way. It was great!
But then almost all families had fathers and an extended family. Also central government funded local authorities well. In the 1980s Thatcherite policies deprived local authorities of money and these places became dumping grounds. If Local Authorities had not been deprived then these places would have remained ok and would still be gere today.
