This Peruvian piece is widely know and re-interpreted the world over. It is a tribute to the virgins of the sun.

The virgins of the sun were highly regarded priestesses of the Inka Empire.
As children they were selected for their exceptional beauty or unusual birth, cloistered and indoctrinated in special schools. While most became the priestesses of lesser cults, the ones showing most capacity and learning joined the moon cult and became the virginal wives of the sun, their duty the maintenance and propagation of the skills, wisdom, and customs of their civilization, even acting in premier leadership roles when needed.

haber, hace un año estaba yo paseando en Pasto Nariño (Colombia) y escuche una cancion que mas o menos hablaba de una guabara de ojos azules cabellos dorados y todo el cuento... el caso es NO SE porque rayos no compre el CD, cuando regrece a la ciudad no los encontre, alguien sabe que cancion es??? como se llama????
