F16s may not win a dog fight with su MKI but powerful AESA radars in the presence of AWACS can make them lethal, atleast for another decade. Stealth jets will eventually replace all non-stealth jets in about 20 to 30 yrs.

in fact the biggest worry for china is the defense exp in india till 2015.. expected to go up to by at least three times.. thats why america on the one hand wants India to a part of Security council and china on the other is upping the ante on the india border by deploying missiles aimed at most indian cities. cause for concern for india

Then about change ..The Indian airforce will also change 'drastically' within a few years.The FGFA (stealth) will be inducted in Airforce in a few years and also the AMCA (stealth) will be ready then.Also the MRCA Tender is in its final stage. (in which India is buying 126 Medium Multi Role Combat Aircraft for 11-12 billion dollars)

Nice to see that the indian air force is that professional. India has always been an ally of Europe and the US. So we should not fear each other, but be glad that we have such good allies!

unfortunately for the indians the United States Air Force will change Drastically with the introduction of the F35 and the addition of more F22's. It will be a completely different beast then it is now.

@nishkov India will not be interested in Su35 because India upgraded version from Su30 to Su30MKI is way better, itis a 4.5 gen aircraft. Su35 is very closly related to su30mki and is a 4th gen airplane. If india decides to buy every plane of sukhoi class then there would be 40 variants in IAF by 2020. India will stick to Su30MKI squadron and will Induct T50 5th gen stealth Aircraft by 2012-2013 . Enough of Russian planes :p we are also getting Indeginous planes made and 126 planes in MMRCA deal

@nishkov The Indian SU30 is the MKI version, its highly superior than the normal SU30s. In fact people compare it to the SU35 in terms of capabilities. So its state of the art and will remain so for the next 2 or 3 decades (provided upgradation takes place).
